• B. PERFORMING AN A CHAIN ALIGNMENT

  3. Clean and inspect optics
  4. Inspect lateral film guide and rollers
  5. Adjust exciter bulb voltage (80%)
  6. Adjust exciter lamp position
  7. Adjust solar cell bracket and slit image
  8. Wire solar cell to processor
  9. Prepare SMART processor for A chain alignment
  10. Hook RTA and oscilloscope to processor
  11. Adjust film guide assembly or exciter lamp assembly (SMPTE Buzz Track)
  12. Adjust for minimum crosstalk (CAT. #97) Repeat steps 11 & 12 until no further adjustment is necessary
  13. Verify solar cell hookup (with white card)
  14. Adjust azimuth and focus (CAT. #69 pink noise)
  15. Slit loss correction
  16. Adjust preamp levels (CAT #69 tone)
  17. Adjust for surround null
