A. TEST FILM LOOPS

B. PERFORMING AN A CHAIN ALIGNMENT
- What is the A Chain?
- Test equipment needed
- Clean and inspect optics
- Inspect lateral film guide and rollers
- Adjust exciter bulb voltage (80%)
- Adjust exciter lamp position
- Adjust solar cell bracket and slit image
- Wire solar cell to processor
- Prepare SMART processor for A chain alignment
- Hook RTA and oscilloscope to processor
- Adjust film guide assembly or exciter lamp assembly (SMPTE Buzz Track)
- Adjust for minimum crosstalk (CAT. #97)
Repeat steps 11 & 12 until no further adjustment is necessary
- Verify solar cell hookup (with white card)
- Adjust azimuth and focus (CAT. #69 pink noise)
- Slit loss correction
- Adjust preamp levels (CAT #69 tone)
- Adjust for surround null
